1. This week my sister showed me this video of a really cute child busting a move. I particularly like when he matches the lyrics.

2. I love sushi and I love cake. Their unholy fusion has resulted in SUSHI CAKES by hello naomi.

3. Last weekend I went to Supanova Sydney. I’m getting my photos together to put on flickr but here are some taken by a dude who had a big camera. Here’s one of a friend and me being undead.

4. Awesome Motel America flickrset.

5. I really dig on the motivational poster macros that hang around the internets. I think this one is particularly ace. Via David Malki !

five things week 04

This post is running late due to my weekend being consumed by Supanova XD

1. This Philosoraptor T-Shirt is the best t-shirt I’ve seen in a long time. It’s AMAZING! Via Wil Wheaton on twitter.

2. A friend directed me to The Future Shock after a discussion about flash mobbing and pranks. The Future Shock is pretty much the coolest and most in-depth prank/performance art I’ve seen to date.

3. An amazing video of The Greatest Freak Out Ever which happens after a boy’s mother cancels his World of Warcraft account. Two words: psychological help. Via Layer01.

4. Recently, I was making banana bread so I often I was getting bored. This delicious Pumpkin Loaf is a great alternative if you feel the need to mix things up.

5. I want this Mid-Century Modern Furniture Poster by James Provost! It’s only US$10 from here.

five things week 03

1. Not only does it have a plastic moulded grip that looks like a braided sword handle, this ninja umbrella has a carry cover so you can carry it Samurai style! Excuse me while I go have a nerdgasm!

2. Salivating over these vintage circus posters via ColourLovers.

3. Inspiring time lapse video of Mike Kus making slides for a presentation on graphic design at Future of Web Design London 2009, via trevhutch.

4. I’ve made this Moroccan Sweet Potato, Carrot and Chickpea Soup about 5 times since my mum sent me the link to the recipe 2 months ago. The only change I make is substituting vegetable stock instead of chicken stock. I might also get liberal with the chilli on occasion.

5. Cristobal Schmal’s bold illustration style is so lovely! I want these prints on my wall! via Drawn.

five things week 02

1. The Zombie Bible is pretty excellent:

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God made the heaven and the earth and the Zombies sprang forth from the roiling foam of creation, barking in uncontrollable rage, hungry for human flesh to eat and pestork, giving pause to our Lord who shat himself and uttered ‘Oh, fuck’ amidst the primordial celestial gloom.

Here ends the reading.

2. Want some pop ephemera from the 60s, 70s and 80s? Get into this awesome flickr collection.

3. Delicious vector art by Tom Whalen via Arts and Spacecrafts. I particularly like the old horror movie poster remixes, like this one for Creature from the Black Lagoon. He uses pretty fierce fonts too.

4. I tried this Coconut Banana Bread recipe this week and it worked great!

5. I guess it’s not close to Halloween or even the Sydney Zombie Lurch yet but I love Threadbanger and their Zombie Howto video has some great tips.

1. Miami based singer/songwriter Rachel Goodrich.

2. Blog post on breaking bad habits in photoshop. I need this. I am guilty of all!

3. Easy Bean & Spinach Korma recipe. I substituted mushrooms in place of the capsicum because I didn’t have any, added white quinoa and used frozen spinach, and the result was very successful, also tasty.

4. I cannot express what a gem Mr Spock’s Music from Outer Space is! Seriously, this the soundtrack to my 1960s space adventure fantasy. Found via ontd_startrek.

5. A badass squid hat by WonderlandCreation on etsy.

I like this version of Sugar Blues by Clyde McCoy.
